KAHULUI – At a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset three members were inducted into the club. The induction officer was Al Weiland, assistant governor for the Rotary Coastal Clubs.
Dan Jaegeris the West Area Director with the Boys and Girls Club of Maui. He has extensive nonprofit background including 32 years with the YMCA holding the position of Executive Director and CEO positions for 20+. Prior to relocating to Maui Dan was involved with Rotary for 20 years spanning 3 different communities on the mainland. Dan is sponsored by Joanne Laird.
Bob Shroder retired from Mercy Health-Youngstown as the CEO in 2016, a position he held for 14 years. Bob served for nine years on the Board of Directors for Miami University in Ohio. He and his wife purchased their Maui home in 2019 and relocated permanently in 2021. He was recently appointed by the Hawaii governor to serve on the Tri-Isle Health Planning Committee. After experiencing the devastating effects of the fires at their home in Kahoma Village last year, Courtney Sakalosky and her husband Jeff made the difficult decision to resign from the club. They relocated to Colorado, where Courtney accepted a teaching position while Jeff returned to Maui in January to oversee the repairs to their home. Jeff reactivated his membership during this time. When Courtney returned to Maui in June, she was offered a teaching position at Kamehameha III School as a special education teacher. Now, Courtney is following in Jeff’s footsteps by reactivating her membership, ready to reconnect with the community and continue making a positive impact on Maui.
