Slack Key Show presents featured guest artists beginning in May
NAPILI — George Kahumoku Jr., the host of Maui’s Grammy Award-winning Slack Key Show-Masters of Hawaiian Music, will once again begin featuring some of Hawaii’s premier slack key guitarists as guest artists, as they had proudly done prior to pandemic shutdown. Beginning in May, shows will now open at 6:30 p.m.
Performances are held every Wednesday. Seating capacity is reduced for social-distancing, so reservations are a must. Masks are required.
The show features Kahumoku and his ‘Ohana, which includes talented ukulele player Peter deAquino, young slack key guitarist Sterling Seaton and ukulele players Max Angel and JJ Jerome.
The May entertainment schedule includes: May 5 — George Kahumoku Jr. with Maui traditional slack key Master Kevin Brown, plus the show ‘Ohana; May 12 — George Kahumoku Jr. with his ‘Ohana; May 19 — George Kahumoku Jr., slack key instrumentalist Jeff Peterson and the show ‘Ohana; May 26 — George Kahumoku Jr. with his ‘Ohana.
