Emerson to discuss Theatre Theatre Maui

By Staff | Dec 3, 2021

Angel Emerson will provide a brief history of the nonprofit Theatre Theatre Maui, its mission, programs, accomplishments, challenges faced and its development and hopes for the future.

LAHAINA — Angel Emerson, administrative assistant to the Board of Directors of Theatre Theatre Maui, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s hybrid meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The meeting will be held in-person at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort and offered virtually via Zoom.

Emerson works full-time as the assistant technical director for the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in addition to her part-time position as the administrative assistant to the Board of Directors for Theatre Theatre Maui.

She comes from her previous employment with MAPA (Maui Academy of Performing Arts) as the production and stage manager.

Prior to joining MAPA, she ran the Technical Department at Maui Theatre, which featured the shows “‘Ulalena,” “Burn’n Love,” and “Fourever Fab.”

Emerson was “born with a suitcase in her hand,” and her freelance career has taken her through 32 states, including a national tour.

TTM was founded in December 1991 and has just reached its 30th year of operation as a relatively bare-boned, grassroots group serving the West Side community.
