KAPALUA — Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe LLC has signed a lease with Maui Land & Pineapple Company Inc. for restaurant space at the Village Center in Kapalua Resort.

The restaurant will feature casual dining with family-style service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In addition to table service, guests will be able to enjoy the convenience of a service counter featuring ice cream and baked goods, along with a coffee bar and assorted beverages, in the casual seating area or for take away.

Kapalua Resort residents Deborah and Stuart Katz, owners of Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe, believe their new restaurant will complete the resort experience for visitors and residents.

“We are looking forward to providing a dining experience focused on quality and comfort, whether it is for coffee and a pastry, a full meal or just a scoop of ice cream,” the owners noted.

“Kapalua Resort is pleased to have Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe open in the resort,” said Ryan Churchill, president and COO of Maui Land & Pineapple Company Inc.

“The cafe will be a great complement to restaurants currently operating in the resort. We look forward to a long-term partnership with the Katz family and the Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe.”

Slated to open within a few months, the cafe is currently staffing full- and part-time positions.
