Hawaii Men’s Volleyball Adds Four More For 2025 Class
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team added to its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of two four-year transfers – Clay Wieter of Lindenwood and Vladimir Kubr of Pepperdine – and two prep standouts – Matthew Wheels of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Presley Longfellow of Kāne’ohe, O’ahu.
Wieter played three seasons at Lindenwood appearing in 59 career matches. Last season, the St. Louis, Mo., native earned second-team all-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors after leading the team in kills (327) and aces (46) and ranked second in digs (176) and third in blocks (39). He averaged 3.24 kills per set and hit .319 on the year.
Kubr spent two seasons at Pepperdine, where he appeared in one match last season and redshirted in 2023. The Torrance, Calif., native began his collegiate career at El Camino College in 2022, where he led the team in assists (564) and also tallied 22 kills, 83 digs, and 31 total blocks. Kubr prepped at South High School in Torrance, Calif., and earned first-team all-conference teams.
Wheels prepped at Mater Dei High School in southern California and played club ball for Pulse VC. The 5-foot-10 libero was named to the 2024 AVCA Boys High School All-America Watch List. He served as team captain at both Mater Dei High and Pulse Volleyball Club.
Longfellow prepped at Hawai’i Baptist Academy where he was an all-state and all-ILH performer at middle blocker. The Kāne’ohe, O’ahu native was recently named to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s All-State Fab 15 list.
In addition to these four signees, the Class of 2025 also includes Ofeck Hazan of Zichron-Yaakov, Israel, Finn Kearney of Phoenix, Ariz., Victor Lowe of Santa Monica, Calif., Adrien Roure of Montpellier, France, Kristian Titryski of Sofia, Bulgaria.
