Gasman Among U.S. National Team Roster For Opening Round of VNL

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former University of Hawai’i middle blocker Patrick Gasman is among the 12-player roster for the United States Men’s National Team who will compete in the first round of Preliminary Play of the Volleyball National League, May 22-26 in Antalya, Turkey.
Gasman is one of six veterans on the squad who have made previous VNL travel rosters and one of four middle blockers. The Clovis, Calif., native previously competed in the 2022 VNL.
The U.S. are ranked No. 2 in the world and have won the silver medal at the last two VNLs (2022 and ’23). The Americans will play Poland (May 22), France (May 24), Bulgaria (May 25), and Turkey (May 26) in tournament’s opening weekend.
At UH, Gasman was a four-year All-American who led the Rainbow Warriors to the 2021 NCAA title. He has been a part of the U.S. National Team program since 2014 and made his debut with the senior national team in 2019. Last summer, he was named the Most Valuable Player and Best Blocker of the NORCECA Men’s Pan American Cup Final Six after leading the Americans to the tournament title.
Gasman is one of two former Rainbow Warriors on the 30-member U.S. National Team roster for the VNL along with middle blocker Taylor Averill, who was recently named to the U.S. Olympic Team roster.
