Raptors win summer hoops title

The Lahaina Raptors celebrate after winning their second consecutive championship of the Maui Basketball Association Summer Season.
LAHAINA — The hot streak continues for the Lahaina Raptors, as the West Side 6 and Under team ran away with their second consecutive championship of the Maui Basketball Association Summer Season.
The red clad Raptors ran through an undefeated regular season and then powered their way to their second straight title with victories over Kihei in the semi-finals by a score of 32-2 before putting out the Canefire 42-4 in the championship showdown at Kihei on June 23.
The Raptors, coached by Daniel Sykes and Sean Ganhinhin, were led by Kainoa Sumer and Mason Ganhinhin, the team leaders in hustle and focus throughout the season.
They were joined on the court by returnees Aceyn Sykes, Nixon Lopez, Kanekoa Dapitan, Romeo O’Riordan, Kadence Shaw and Ula Hiapo. New players this season were Maxell Patrie, Journey Gonsalves and Mikko Akker.
Congratulations to the players and coaches for their hard work and happy demeanor throughout the season.
