Michael Castillo has been a golf professional for over 30 years, working at several renowned courses throughout the state and in California.

KAPALUA — Michael Castillo, PGA, head golf professional at Kapalua’s Plantation Course, bested a group of the Aloha Section’s finest golf professionals to take home the 2022 Aloha Section PGA Championship trophy at Poipu Bay Course on Kauai.

He shot 74-74 to finish one better than Juan Hernandez from Nanea Golf Club on the Big Island.

With the win, Castillo automatically qualified for the Sony Open in Hawaii on Jan. 12-15 at Waialae Country Club, where he will play against a full field of PGA Tour professionals.

Castillo also qualifies for the prestigious PGA Professional National Championship in April 2023 at Twin Warriors Golf Club in New Mexico.
