Luna boys soccer team finishes fourth

The Lahainaluna High School boys soccer team played King Kekaulike and other top teams this season.

LAHAINA — The 2022 Maui Interscholastic League Division I boys soccer season concluded with the Lahainaluna High School team in fourth place with a 2-8 record.

Guided by the veteran coaching staff of Head Coach Sam Aki, along with assistants Robyn Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez and Adolfo Cruz, the Lunas battled some of the top teams in the state — MIL kingpin King Kekaulike would go on to capture the state championship — during the regular season.

The Lahainaluna roster included Adrian Cardenas Santiago, Andy Diaz Diaz, Angel Aaron Diaz Diaz, Anatello Flores, Owen Garcia Olea, Alejandro Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Diego Hernandez, Kaikane Herrera Rocha, Sacrie Latu, Dane Markulis, Tayden Medeiros Maielua, Lance Morikawa Jr., Manuel Ochoa, Ivan Pacheco, Gonzalo Pati III, Santos Ramos Lagunas, Jacob Ramos McAlindon, Mike Rodriguez, Marcus Michael Ruis Carrillo, Juan Carlos Ruiz Carrillo, Brasil Ruiz Rockett, Guiness Ruiz Rockett and Kekai Sanchez.
