Run Forest Run Front Street Mile and 5K/10K set for Saturday

More than 700 runners of all ages are expected to participate in the Run Forest Run Front Street Mile and 5K/10K.
LAHAINA – The Run Forest Run Front Street Mile and 5K/10K will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15. Both races start at 8 a.m. in front of Bubba Gump Shrimp Company on Front Street.
Both events are out and back flat courses.
Medals will be given out to the top three finishers for each age category.
After the 5K/10K, the Front Street Mile will start at 10 a.m.
The mile race has been around for 18 years and is an island favorite for kids, locals and tourists alike. Medals will be awarded for all finishers in this event.
Participants can sign up for both the 5K/10K and Front Street Mile. Narrow Front Street gets crowded for this event, which makes it fun to watch.
This is open to everyone of any age and skill level. Come out and have some fun. Runner’s Paradise expects over 700 people running these events, so sign up as soon as possible at runnersparadiseinc.com/ to reserve your spot.
The mile race is a Hawaii State Championship event, so special medals will be awarded to the state champs in four categories: Open, Masters (40-plus), Grand Masters (50-plus) and Senior Masters (60-plus).
State title awards will go to residents of Hawaii only, even though out-of-state runners will be competing in the same race.
