Registration underway for third annual Sophie Swim
KAANAPALI – The third annual Sophie Swim will be held on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 at Kahekili Beach Park. This is a fun Open Water Swim event for ages 12 and up.
The course is two kilometers – from Kahekili Beach Park to Black Rock and back.
To register for the swim online, go to the Finish Line Productions website at www.flpregister.com/333. An event link is also posted on Facebook (TheSophieSwim).
The first 50 registrants will receive an “atomic tangerine” beach towel along with mesh bag. Swim caps must be worn and will be provided on race day… and yes, they are orange, too!
The youth race starts at 8 a.m. followed by adults at 8:15 a.m.; swimmers race by age category and Fin or No-Fin divisions.
Winners and runners up will be awarded prizes that have been generously donated by the local community.
This event is being hosted by the Sophie DeLoria Foundation. Proceeds raised are distributed to local keiki organizations focusing on swimming, dance and music.
