West Maui Little League to hold registration

LAHAINA – West Maui Little League will hold registration for the 2018 baseball season on Friday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall.

Boys and girls ages 5-14 are welcome to come out and play. New and returning players are welcome.

Learn and develop new skills, work as part of a team, build confidence, have fun and make new friends. Players will learn the fundamentals of baseball and develop and refine their skills through practice and games.

The 2018 season will run from January through March. All players must provide proof of residency (living in West Maui or enrolled in a school in West Maui). Minors, Majors and Juniors must provide three documents. New players must provide a copy of their original birth certificate.

Maui Prep seeks coaches

NAPILI – Maui Preparatory Academy seeks coaches for a number of vacancies for the upcoming spring season (February through April).

Positions include track and field, surfing, and golf. Practices are typically held weekdays in Napili from 3 to 5 p.m., but there is some flexibility.

Contact Athletic Director Keenan Reader at kreader@mauiprep.org if you are interested. Coaches are paid a modest stipend at the conclusion of the season. All coaches are considered employees and must pass a background check upon hiring.
