Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation to hold Scholarship Golf Tournament
WAILUKU – The Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation will hold its annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 22, at Kahili Golf Course. The tournament provides funds for the foundation’s scholarship programs.
Sharon Zalsos, foundation president, said, “It’s a fun tournament for a very good cause.”
Since 1995, the chamber has awarded scholarships to 137 high school seniors and five students at the Maui Culinary Academy. “Fifteen students were awarded scholarships in 2016 through the foundation’s generous partners and because of the success of last year’s Scholarship Golf Tournament,” said Bill Ruidas, tournament chairman.
There are three different levels of sponsorship: Platinum ($1,100 for six golfers); Gold ($500 for three golfers); and Team ($375 for three golfers). Tee Sponsors are also available at $100. Golfers will have an opportunity to win a hole-in-one prize at each of the par three holes (sponsored by Valley Isle Motors) and also win door prizes, with the grand door prize courtesy of Philippine Airlines.
The deadline for the three-person full scramble tournament is March 31, but those who submit their paid application by March 15 will be eligible for an early bird drawing sponsored by Friends of Yuki Lei Sugimura.
Applications for the golf tournament may be downloaded online at www.mauifilipinochamber.com or call Ruidas at 873-8605 or Co-chair Alfredo Evangelista at 242-8100.
