LAHAINA – Are you ready for some football?!

Well, here it is, Luna fans. The Lahainaluna High School Red Tide rolls into the 2016 season with a preseason kickoff classic that will bring Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) White (Division II) powerhouse Pearl City to Sue D. Cooley Stadium to play the hometown Lunas on Aug. 6.

Kickoff for the varsity contest between the Lunas and the Chargers is scheduled for 7 p.m., immediately following a junior varsity game featuring Pearl City and Lahainaluna.

The Lunas captured their tenth straight Maui Interscholastic League championship in 2016 and reached the state Division II semifinals before falling to Kapaa of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation.

Lahainaluna will face the Warriors again in their second preseason contest this year on Aug. 13, also at home at Sue D. Cooley Stadium on the Lahainaluna campus.
