LAHAINA – Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch are proud to be hosting the only professional men’s and women’s tennis tournament in the State of Hawaii, happening now on Maui.

This week, through Jan. 31, 50 of the top 200 male and female professional tennis players in the world will converge on the resort’s 11 courts to compete for $100,000 in prize money.

“We are thrilled to host the USTA-Sportmaster Championships here at the Royal Lahaina Resort. The Royal Lahaina Resort began hosting professional tennis tournaments in 1973 and has seen such tennis greats as Jimmy Connor, Peter Fleming and a host of celebrities such as Lloyd Bridges, Adam ‘Batman’ West and our own Jack ‘Tihati’ Thompson,” said Tom Bell, president of Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts.

In 2014, the United States Tennis Association awarded the resort with its highest honor of Tennis Facility of the Year. The acclaimed tennis facilities are on the grounds of the Royal Lahaina, which was named one of the Top 100 tennis destinations in the world.
