KAANAPALI – To encourage and engage the next generation of golfers, Kaanapali Golf Courses and Puakea Golf Course on Kauai, both managed by Billy Casper Golf, are continuing the annual “Juniors Play Free-Bring the ‘Ohana” program until Aug. 31.

Junior golfers from age seven to 17 and accompanied by a paying adult can play or ride for free on the Kaanapali Kai or Puakea golf courses.

Introduced several years ago, Kaanapali’s popular keiki tees measure a junior-friendly 2,459 yards and play to a par 71.

The fun and colorful markers treat keiki from across the globe to memorable experiences while playing with friends and family on the panoramic Kai Course.

In addition to “Juniors Play Free,” Puakea Golf Course offers a “$1 per Hole” for juniors for the balance of 2015. With more than 40 stalls on its all-grass driving range, a practice bunker and large putting green, Puakea is ideal for families to learn and improve golf skills.

“My fondest childhood memories are traveling and playing golf with my dad,” said Ed Kageyama, PGA regional manager for Billy Casper Golf.

“Golf is a wonderful game to introduce kids to, as it teaches integrity, honesty, etiquette and respect.”

More than 2,000 rounds are played every summer by young golfers taking advantage of Kaanapali and Puakea’s programs.

Popular destinations for residents and visitors alike, the courses proudly provide fun activities to keep families together during vacations and time off from school.
