Lahaina joins Maui Big Boyz Football League
LAHAINA – The Maui Big Boyz Football League added about 100 players this year with the addition of teams from Kihei and Lahaina.
In its fourth season here on Maui, Big Boyz Football is made up of sixth- to eighth-graders. This exposure gives the players a leg up on football experience as they prepare to enter into junior varsity level football in high school.
Lahaina’s team is comprised of 37 players trained by a veteran team of volunteer coaches. They’ve compiled an impressive undefeated record as of April 19, with scores of 13-0 against Upcountry, 32-0 versus Kihei and 26-0 against Wailuku.
West Siders have two opportunities to watch these exciting games in Lahaina. Double-headers will be played at Lahaina Recreation Center Park at 2 and 4 p.m. on May 3 and May 31. Lahaina’s team plays both days at 4 p.m. (subject to change due to weather). Come watch future MIL athletes and join in the fun. Admission is free.
