Lady Lunas helping Laulima Giving Program

LAHAINA – The Laulima Giving Program (many hands working together) brings companies and individuals together to help needy families in Hawaii.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Lahainaluna High School varsity softball team – on behalf of the Laulima Giving Program – will collect donations of much-needed household items and new, unwrapped toys for children and families in need through Dec. 16

Needed items include new bedding, toys, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, shoes, toilet paper and clothes. Gift cards are also welcome; however, please do not send cash or checks. Contact a softball player to collect items, or call (808) 357-7543 to arrange pickup.


Free basketball clinic slated at Lahaina Civic Center

LAHAINA – Basketball Maui and Westside Hoops will hold a free ball control/shooting clinic on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 8 to 9:45 a.m. for keiki ages 5-8 and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for players ages 9-13 at Lahaina Civic Center.

This free clinic is for all West Maui boys and girls. Players should bring their own basketball and canned food items to donate to Maui Food Bank.
