Hyundai Tournament of Champions launches Golf for Maui Charities program

By Staff | Nov 28, 2013

KAPALUA – The Hyundai Tournament of Champions announced that for the third year, local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to promote the sale of tickets to this year’s tournament and receive 100 percent of the net proceeds through the Golf for Maui Charities program.

The Hyundai Tournament of Champions will take place on The Plantation Course in Kapalua from Jan. 3-6, 2014.

There is no cost for charities to participate in this unique program, no minimum amount of tickets that must be sold or maximum amount that can be raised by each charity.

Through the Golf for Maui Charities program, fans have the opportunity to purchase a Good Any Day Grounds ticket, good any one day of the tournament (Jan. 3-6), for $20; or a weekly grounds ticket, good for all competitive rounds of the event from Friday, Jan. 3, through Monday, Jan. 6, for $45.

All net proceeds will go directly to the local charity promoting the sale of the ticket. Organizations start earning with the first ticket they sell.

The PGA Tour will provide each registered nonprofit organization with marketing materials that can be customized and distributed in support of the group’s promotional efforts.

“The Golf for Maui Charities program is another way for the tournament to make an impact on the Maui community, and we sincerely look forward to providing this fundraising opportunity to local charities each year,” said Nancy Cross, executive director of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

There is no limit on the number of organizations that can participate in the Golf for Maui Charities program. All registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may participate by visiting charityregistration.pgatourhq.com/, completing a Participation Agreement, and submitting a copy of the group’s 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter.
