LAC Golf Classic to support Lahaina Junior Golf

By Staff | May 2, 2013

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee invites golfers to its first annual Golf Classic on Saturday, May 11, at the Kaanapali Royal Golf Course in West Maui.

Golfers who participate will have the satisfaction of helping a charitable organization, with a portion of the tournament proceeds benefitting Lahaina Junior Golf.

The festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. with a four-golfer scramble shotgun start. Registration is at 7 a.m.; the entry fee is $125 per player.

The fee includes 18 holes of golf on the beautiful Kaanapali Royal Golf Course, cart and luncheon.

An awards ceremony at Paradise Grill will follow the tournament. The spectacular perpetual trophy carved by woodworking artist Paul Kaspriske will be awarded, and there will be live and silent auctions.

LahainaTown Action Committee President Sne Patel said, “This is going to be a unique golf classic with many merchants contributing to the fun. Cool Cat Caf (cosponsor), Shark Pit Food Truck and Round Table Pizza will be offering ono grinds on selected holes, so bring your appetite and golf skills.”

A hole-in-one contest is set, with a brand new car sponsored by Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors as the prize.

The public is invited to come join in the fun. For registration information, visit the LahainaTown Action Committee website at www.visitlahaina.com or call Lynn Donovan at 667-9175.
