KIHEI – The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a one-day About Boating Safely course on Saturday, March 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The class will be held at the Humpback Whale Sanctuary office at 726 S. Kihei Road.

This introductory course includes general information about choosing and maintaining a boat, operating a boat or PWC safely, navigation rules and aids to navigation, state-specific boating laws and regulations, handling boating emergencies and much more.

The cost of the class is $35, payable at the class. Books are provided by the Hawaii Department of Land & Natural Resources.
