By Staff | Mar 7, 2013

KAANAPALI – On Saturday, March 9, the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and Aloha Section PGA are partnering to present the second annual Hawaii Junior Golf Day.

This special introductory golf event is being held at 13 golf courses across the state to introduce the game to Hawaii keiki ages 5-17 who have never played or are beginners to the game of golf.

Kaanapali Golf Courses, Wailea Golf Club-Emerald Course and The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course are participating on Maui.

To register, simply go to “http://www.HSJGA.org”>www.HSJGA.org. If your child doesn’t have clubs, don’t worry. Age-appropriate equipment will be provided by US Kids Clubs and SNAG (Starting New at Golf) golf companies.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., with games, clinics and activities running from 9 to 11 a.m. PGA professionals and volunteers will teach the clinics.

This is a fun and free way to introduce your child to the game for a lifetime!

The event will be informative for parents as well. The “Roadmap to Junior Golf,” containing information on where parents can enroll their child in a junior golf program, will be made available online at www.HSJGA.org after the event.

Hawaii State Junior Golf Day is sponsored by the HSJGA (Hawaii State Junior Golf Association) and the Aloha Section PGA. Supporting sponsors include Taylormade, Titleist, Bridgestone, Callaway, Logo Golf Chip Co, U.S. Kids Golf and SNAG.

The purpose of the HSJGA is to provide an environment where any junior golfer, male or female ages 7-18, can enjoy golf and progress at his/her own rate from beginner to a proficient level while promoting and preserving the traditions and integrity of the game.
