Empty Bowl Project helps Lahaina Girls Basketball

By Staff | May 17, 2012

LAHAINA – While the first annual Empty Bowl Project at Star Noodle on April 14 benefitted the Maui Food Bank to the tune of $5,000, the Lahaina Girls Basketball program also received a boost from the event in the amount of $2,000 for helping with set-up and parking at the event.

Empty Bowl Project is a worldwide effort to fight hunger. The local event had Star Noodle and the Maui Organization for the Ceramic Arts coming together to help support the Maui Food Bank.

The Lahaina Girls Basketball organization is fundraising for a trip to participate in the “End of Trail Shootout Tournament” in Oregon early this summer.
