Run and Walk For the Whales slated

SOUTH MAUI – Pacific Whale Foundation’s Run and Walk For the Whales is set for Saturday, Feb. 4.

Runners and walkers, adults and kids, residents and visitors are invited to take part in one of Maui’s largest fun runs and walking events.

The course includes ocean views – you might even see a whale or two breaching in the distance! Choose from the 5K walking course, 5K running course, half marathon walking course, half marathon running course and 2K running course for kids.

Starting line and post-run festivities will take place at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort.

This event includes professional chip timing for 5K runners and the half marathon, and clock timing for 5K and Half Marathon walkers and 2K keiki runners. The entry fee includes a “Run and Walk for the Whales” T-shirt plus post-race breakfast. Water, aid stations and musical entertainment will be located along course.

Starting times are 6:30 a.m. for the half marathon, 7:30 a.m. for the 5K and 8 a.m. for the keiki run. Park at the Wailea event lot at the top of Wailea Ike Drive to meet the free shuttle bus to the race check-in.
