Legacy Cup to support LHS Project Graduation

By Staff | Feb 17, 2011

A team from Whalers Realty Inc. won the 2010 Legacy Cup tournament.

LAHAINA — As a benefit for Lahainaluna High School’s Project Graduation, Title Guaranty of Hawaii presents the third annual Title Guaranty Legacy Cup on Saturday, April 2, at the Kaanapali Golf Resort’s Kai Course.

Project Graduation is the extremely noble effort of concerned community members and parents to present a safe party environment on graduation night. Drinking and driving is the leading killer of teens on our roads, particularly on graduation night.

The event is planned completely by parents with the help and support of school administration and community members.

The Legacy Cup will feature a four-person team scramble format, with each player using a minimum of three drives. Each team’s handicap will be based upon 10 percent of the combined team handicap, with the maximum of 24 for men and 36 for women.

Women will play from the hibiscus-colored tees, while the men will play from the sand-colored tees.

The tournament will be played rain or shine with check-in starting at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Two “mulligans” per person will be available for a donation of $20.

The entry fee is $400 per four-person team, and a lottery prize will be awarded for the first 25 teams entered. Entry fees include a continental breakfast, green/cart fees and an awards luncheon at Lahaina Outback Steakhouse.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100, and four affiliate hole sponsorships will be available for $300.

The Legacy Cup trophy will be awarded to the winning team along with a special grand prize. Other prizes will include resort certificates, golf course and restaurant certificates, golf merchandise and much more. For more information, contact Joel Navarro at 264-5089.
