LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School bowling team rolled through another successful season in Maui Interscholastic League competition with six student-athletes participating in the program this year.

The team was coached by Special Education teacher Erik Jennings, who was assisted by Bill Green through the season.

The girls team was made up of Paige Green, Alisha Coston-Chung, Sierra Stevens and Kailiann Tuipulotu, while the boys lineup included Sean White and Kalen Willits.

The Luna rollers traveled twice a week to the Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku for practices and matches.

“We did well considering most of the kids were beginners in bowling, and it was a good opportunity to get them to a bowling alley since we don’t have one on the West Side,” said Coach Jennings recently, as the team prepared for the last matches of the season.

“This has been a rebuilding year for the team, and next year we’ll have more kids out from the beginning of the year and we’ll be able to get more practice time in. The main thing is that the kids had plenty of fun and they enjoyed the experience,” he said.

Jennings ended by sending his gratitude to supporters of MIL bowling.

“Thanks to the people at the Maui Bowling Center for always hosting the teams in the program for practice and the tournaments. Thanks also goes out to the other MIL coaches for helping us get started and learn about the program, and to my assistant, Bill Green, for all of his help. And thank you as well to all the parents for supporting the kids. We appreciate everything they do,” he concluded.
