Get fit and give back with ‘Pilates for Pink’

By Staff | Oct 14, 2010

LAHAINA — Exercise to help fight breast cancer with “Pilates for Pink” Pilates Mat classes and Zumba classes on Friday, Oct. 15 and 29, at Body in Balance Pilates Studio.

Body in Balance, along with Pilates studios across the country, is hosting this special fitness fund-raiser as part of Shape magazine’s annual, award-winning “Pilates for Pink” events.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from “Pilates for Pink” will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by funding innovative clinical and translational research worldwide.

With a goal of raising at least $250, individual donations of $10 or more made to BCRF are required to take part in these classes. Body in Balance will accept checks and money orders payable to BCRF, as well as online donation receipts (donate online at www.bcrfcure.org).

Learn more about Pilates or Zumba — and contribute to the “Pilates for Pink” fundraising campaign — by attending a class at Body in Balance in Lahaina on Oct. 15 or 29: Mat Pilates from 9 to 10 a.m. or 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Zumba from 6 to 7 p.m.

Space for these classes is limited to ten people. Sign up by calling 661-1116 or stop by the studio at 142 Kupuohi St., F-2, in Lahaina. For more information on “Pilates for Pink,” visit www.pilatesforpink.com.
