WAILUKU — The Pacific Cancer Foundation in Maui recently received a $5,000 donation from the Na Koa Ikaika Maui professional baseball club.

The donation will be used to fund programs that assist cancer patients in Maui.

“We are incredibly grateful to Na Koa Ikaika Maui baseball,” said foundation Executive Director Jeff Scharnhorst.

“They are truly a partner in our community in helping our Maui ‘ohana in their fight against cancer. This gift will help us support our programs serving our Maui cancer patients, such as our Patient Navigation program and our Cancer Specialist program, to bring cancer specialists that aren’t available here in Maui from Oahu to see patients here in our community.”

The Pacific Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization. Its goal is to help improve the quality of life of cancer patients and to assist them in their fight against cancer.

All money raised for the foundation is spent in Maui County on cancer patients. For information, call 243-2999 or visit www.pacificcancerfoundation.org.
