WAILUKU — The county Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a series of Skate Jams as part of the Maui Skateboard Series Summer 2010.

The events are free and open to all ages and skill levels.

Each Skate Jam will feature skateboard lessons, contests and activities, music and games. Participants should bring a skateboard; helmets and protective equipment are recommended.

All participants under 18 must have a parent sign a waiver at the event.

The Maui schedule is: Saturday, July 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hana Community Park; Friday, Aug. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Keopuolani Skate Park; and Saturday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Front Street basketball courts in Lahaina. For more information, call Andrew at 283-8600.
