Volleyball camp slated in Lahaina

The Lahainaluna High School boys volleyball team will participate in the camp.

LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School boys volleyball team and Head Coach Tino Reyes of the Hilo Lady Vulcans will host a three-day volleyball camp for all students in grades 7-12 interested in learning the basic skills and techniques of volleyball.

Coaches are asked to participate in the sessions with their players, as they will coach them throughout the season.

The camp will be held at the Lahainaluna High School Gym from Monday, July 19, to Wednesday, July 21.

There is a $10 registration fee. A liability release form must be completed on the first day of camp.

There are 60 seats available; the camp is open to girls and boys. Sessions are also available for coaches.

On Monday, a meeting for coaches will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Athletes and coaches will participate in a session from 6:30 to 9 p.m., followed by another meeting for coaches at 9 p.m.

On Tuesday, athletes and coaches will train from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by a meeting for coaches. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., athletes and parents can train with coaches.

And on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon, the final training session with coaches and athletes will be held, followed by evaluation at noon.

Parents are encouraged to attend for free with a paying athlete.

A snack center will be open during sessions, and water will be provided for all athletes.
