Trails closing for maintenance

By Staff | May 20, 2010

KAPALUA — Kapalua Resort announced that the Arboretum Trail and Mahana Ridge Trail will be closed from May 22-31 for maintenance and animal control.

The area will be closed to the general public during that time.

Shuttle service will not be available, and signage will be posted at trail heads warning people of the closure and to not enter the area, as hunters will be removing pigs.

Both trails will reopen to the public on June 1.

In related news, Kapalua Land Co. invites the public to participate in its monthly community service program with trail maintenance day on Saturday, May 22, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Kapalua Shuttle will support the event with shuttle service to the area to be maintained.

Pu‘u Kukui Watershed Preserve staff will lead a trail maintenance program for the morning.

Participants are asked to meet at the parking lot behind Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Kapalua.
