WAIKAPU — Kahili Golf Course will host the Kahili Maui Open Golf Championship on June 6-7, 2009.

The event is a 36-hole stroke play competition with an anticipated total purse of $18,000 — $15,000 in cash prizes for the professionals, and $3,000 in merchandise certificates for amateurs. A Pro-am will precede the championship on Friday, June 5.

The 2009 contest will feature an “A flight” for amateur golfers with a USGA handicap index of not more than 15.4. Entry forms are available at most golf shops or online at www.kahiligolf.com, www.aloha.pga.com or www.808golf.com.
