Creating a legacy worth leaving

The RED Team delivers 40 masks to the staff at Kaiser Permanente’s Lahaina Clinic.

Making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities we serve lies at the heart of the Keller Williams company – to create a legacy worth leaving. Every year, on the second Thursday of May, we celebrate RED Day. We put our real estate business on pause to give back to the communities we live and work in.

RED Day stands for Renew, Energize and Donate. The observance defines the company’s culture and is a natural extension of its commitment to providing the highest level of professional customer service.

On May 11, 2020, Katie Zimmerman, Sue DeLoria and I met at the Kaiser Permanente Clinic in Lahaina to deliver 40 masks to their nurses, doctors and staff.

Leah Harbottle met up with us at Maui Medical Group in Lahaina, where we delivered an additional 40 masks. The cloth and paper masks were donated by agents from Keller Williams Realty Maui.

Masks were also provided to the staff at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

AJ and Nancy Montoya collect donations for the Maui Food Bank.

On May 14, the official RED Day, we set up a table at the Fairway Shops and collected food and monetary donations for the Maui Food Bank.

There were drop-off sites set up in Kahului and Kihei and, altogether, the Maui Food Bank received 1,222 pounds of food and $4,140 from the day’s drive.

It felt good to help some of our hometown clinics, and to assist in replenishing the Food Bank shelves that is so needed at this time.

We are in this COVID-19 situation together; stay safe and healthy. Aloha!
