2018, a memorable year

By Staff | Dec 27, 2018

Entry of the spectacular Kaanapali Coffee Farms community. Only one original Developer estate lot remains for sale, Lot #29.

There’s a myriad of reasons to love the holidays. It’s a time to celebrate, reflect, share, and give thanks. We, at Kaanapali Land Management Corp. and MauiGrown Coffee, humbly express our gratitude for those who helped make 2018 a memorable year.

Among the highlights of 2018:

Our Kaanapali Coffee Farms community continued to grow. There are now 14 houses completed, eight under construction and seven currently in the design review process. There is only one original Developer Lot left for sale, Lot #29. For a private tour of Lot 29 and/or a listing of resale properties, please call Rohn T. Stark, PB, at (808) 870-5571 or e-mail “mailto:Rohn@PlatinumPropertiesHI.com”>Rohn@PlatinumPropertiesHI.com. Also visit www.KaanapaliCoffeeFarms.com.

Kaanapali Coffee Services is currently harvesting its 11th crop of coffee, and despite periods of heavy rains and windy conditions, not to mention two hurricanes in September and October of 2018, we are optimistic for a successful coffee yield. After all, as noted actor, humorist and political commentator Will Rogers once wrote, “The farmer has to be optimistic, or he wouldn’t still be a farmer.” A big mahalo to our ‘ohana of hard working and dedicated farm and mill workers who are working long hours to bring in the harvest this year!

Coffee is not the only crop being grown on the fertile slopes of Kaanapali. Kaanapali Farm Services is producing delicious apple bananas, grapefruit, lemons and other citrus varieties. We sell what we produce to Maui suppliers and certain grocery stores who offer our produce to the public. Mahalo to all who buy local!

The demand for MauiGrown Coffee’s exceptional coffees continued to soar. We thank everyone who purchased the 100% Maui Origin coffee and who are part of their growing coffee ‘ohana. Don’t forget to stop by the MauiGrown Coffee Company Store on Lahainaluna Road, where holiday flavors are still available, or order online at www.MauiGrownCoffee.com.

Since 2009, Kaanapali Land Management Corp has sponsored Hawaii’s premier plein air event, the annual Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. Mark your calendars! Next year’s event, set for Feb. 16-24, will feature 24 artists and over 200 original paintings. Visit www.CelebrateArtonMaui.org for details.

Kaanapali Land Management Corp. continued to support the Lahainaluna High School Foundation through its annual scholarship. This year, our $1,000 scholarship went to Hannah Valencia. Visit www.LahainalunaHighSchoolFoundation.org to learn more about this worthwhile nonprofit organization.

Kaanapali Land Management Corp. was proud to once again sponsor Maui Interscholastic League’s (MIL) “SOS Maui” (Save Our Sports) Sponsorship Program that benefits high school student-athletes, the MIL and the community. To learn more about MIL, visit www.MauiInterscholasticLeague.com.

As we head into 2019, may each day bring you good health, success, and happiness.
