KAPALUA – On Thursday, Nov. 16, the Kapalua Bay Course golf check-in and Pro Shop relocated to the Village Center on Office Road next to Taverna Restaurant.

West Mauians know this as the former Kapalua Logo Shop location and, previous to that, the Village Course Pro Shop. Taverna will now be open for lunch on weekdays and opens at 9:30 a.m. for brunch on weekends.

The relocation provides The Bay Course with a complete grass driving range (no more limited distance balls) and two large practice putting greens. Additionally, the retail offerings at The Bay Course should be able to offer more merchandise selections with the increased square footage of the updated location. The new location is also a short distance from the Kapalua Golf Academy Learning Center for the golf lesson you have been putting off (but know you need).

Hole #1 on The Bay Course will now be what was previously Hole #7 (the par-four dogleg right to an elevated green just below the Ridge Villas).

A new cart path has been built to take golfers from the golf check-in area to this new Hole #1.

The holes will progress forward from there, with old Hole #8 becoming Hole #2, etc.

This translates to the two oceanfront holes becoming #16 and #17. The new 18th Hole will be the par-5 (the former sixth hole) next to Office Road.

“This relocation is just one step in Kapalua Troon Golf’s large investment in the future of golf and golf amenities at Kapalua,” according to Russ Wynne, Kapalua Club executive director.
