WEST MAUI – With the primary election a little over two weeks away, we want to give voters a chance to meet West Maui County Council candidate Ka’ala Buenconsejo:

“Aloha! I’m Ka’ala Buenconsejo, candidate for Maui County Council. Born and raised in Hawaii, I am a graduate of H.P. Baldwin High School, Maui Community College and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

“My wife, Doreen, is a Lahainaluna High School graduate, and we have three children: Teani, Tainoa and Tali. We reside in the Villages at Leiali’i.

“I’m running for the West Maui council seat to fight for a brighter future for all of us to enjoy. As your councilmember, I pledge to provide housing that local families can afford. I’ll support policies that provide sustainable, balanced growth, with the need to preserve our cultural and natural gathering places we all enjoy. I will work on the local issues that you see and feel the most, such as roads, public safety, parks and community facilities, and support county initiatives promoting clean energy.

“I’ll be a councilmember who listens and will work hard to represent you, the people of Maui, every day. I hope you’ll consider me to serve you as West Maui’s next councilmember.”
