Vans will open a store at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center in late summer.

KAHULUI – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center announced that action sports brand Vans will open a store at the center in late summer.

The store is the first announced location of an official Vans store in the Neighbor Islands.

“We’re excited to welcome Vans to Maui,” said Todd A. Vines, marketing manager of Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

“The brand’s roots in Hawaiian surf culture and talent for creating footwear and apparel for an active lifestyle make it a natural fit for our community and a perfect addition to Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.”

In addition, Tikiz Shave Ice & Snow Shakes and Charlotte Russe are coming to the center.

Tikiz Shave Ice & Snow Shakes will open its first Hawaii location at the center this month.

Known as Tikiz Shave Ice & Ice Cream on the Mainland, the free-standing kiosk in the center’s food court will serve shave ice and feature “Snow Shakes,” a blended beverage made from shave ice ingredients.

“Queen Ka’ahumanu Center is an ideal location for us to introduce Tikiz to Maui,” said Vince Rosano, Tikiz corporate president.

“We are committed to providing a unique, fun experience to each and every one of our customers. We also are strong supporters of our local communities. When hired for local fundraising events, we give back 20 percent of our proceeds to help with the fundraising efforts.”

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center also announced that national retailer Charlotte Russe will open a store at the center in late summer.

The location will be the first in the Neighbor Islands for the seller of young women’s apparel.

“We’re thrilled Charlotte Russe selected Queen Ka’ahumanu Center for its first Hawaii location outside of Oahu,” said Vines. “Charlotte Russe will be a perfect fit for Maui and compliment Queen Ka’ahumanu Center’s growing roster of national, name-brand retailers.”

Named after the French dessert, Charlotte Russe’s first store opened in Carlsbad, California.

Putting a spotlight on women in their teens and early twenties, Charlotte Russe stores offer access to major fashion trends at value-oriented prices.

In the last few decades, the mall-based chain went from 35 stores in Southern California to 500-plus stores across the United States and Puerto Rico.
