LAHAINA – A team of experienced and award-winning Maui realtors is joining the ranks of RE/MAX broker/owners, opening the newest RE/MAX office in a network that boasts more than 6,300 offices in nearly 90 counties.

Barry Lee Brown and Carol A. Brown are the new broker/owners of a RE/MAX Island Properties office. The Browns have been deeply involved in Maui businesses and charitable organizations for nearly three decades and have extensive experience in the local real estate market.

“Real estate has been our lifelong career, beginning in 1976 at Alaska Realty, and ever since I moved to Maui in 1986. I joined RE/MAX Maui in 1999, and Carol has been with RE/MAX for more than ten years,” said Barry.

“The success we’ve had with RE/MAX helped us make the decision to open our own office. Carol and I love what we do, and we want to make RE/MAX resources available to more Maui, Molokai and Lanai families who are looking to buy or sell their home.”

As the Hawaii real estate market strengthens, the Browns see an opportunity to better serve the community. RE/MAX continues to lead all other real estate franchises in total sales volume, number of transactions, average production and years of experience per agent.

RE/MAX also has the most visited website (www.REMAX.com) among franchise brands and claims the biggest share of national television advertising.

“RE/MAX offers an unparalleled marketing network, which helps us help our customers,” said Carol. “All indicators tell us this will be a big year for real estate in Maui, and we want to be able to take advantage of a potentially booming market.”

Both Carol and Barry have deep ties to the local community. Barry has served in numerous roles with the Realtors Association of Maui, including director, RPAC chairman and Government Affairs chairman. He was also recently inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, an honor given to only a select few RE/MAX affiliates each year.

Carol is a volunteer and a member of the part-time staff with Women Helping Women. She also serves as an active member of the West Maui Domestic Violence Task Force.
