KAANAPALI – Once again, Whalers Realty agents received acknowledgment for their efforts in negotiating a sufficient number of transactions to obtain the status of being a member of the Hawaii Business Top 100 Realtors in the State of Hawaii.

Considering that the State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ Professional and Vocational Licensing Division recently reported that there are 12,492 active brokers and salespersons presently licensed in Hawaii, accomplishing this volume of sales in this economy is most impressive.

Since 2007, Hawaii Business Magazine has honored these elite individuals who are involved in over 40 percent of Hawaii’s real estate volume collectively each year. Hawaii Business Magazine ranks these realtors by dollar volume in closed transactions. This year, a celebration ceremony was held on Thursday, May 31, on the Ocean Lawn and in the Monarch Ballroom at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki. Whalers Realty flew the agents to Oahu for the festivities. The three agents affiliated with Whalers Realty are no strangers to the awards ceremony, having all received the Top 100 Realtor honor previously. Mark A. Marchello was awarded the title in 2010 and 2012. Gregory J. Harbottle was awarded the title in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012.

At this year’s ceremony, Robert J. Cartwright, principal broker and owner of Whalers Realty Inc., was named to the esteemed “Hall of Fame” for achieving the “Top 100 Realtors” status in five of the six years that the list has been in existence.

Cartwright said, “Although it’s an honor to receive such a prestigious award, the recognition should be given to the people that support me every day, which is my wife, Tess, and the loyal and hardworking support staff at Whalers Realty.”

Since the introduction of Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtors list, it has become one of the signature issues for Hawaii Business Magazine. Look for the full “Top 100 Realtors” list, which will be published in the June 2012 issue of Hawaii Business.
