Lahaina realtor named ‘Broker of the Year’
WAIKAPU – During a recent luncheon at the King Kamehameha Golf Course, the Realtors Association of Maui installed its 2012 officers and recognized three outstanding association members.
“We extend our warm congratulations and admiration to this year’s award winners,” said President Bob Lightbourn.
“These individuals were honored for their professional abilities; Realtor spirit; volunteer work with the local, state and national Associations of Realtors; civic and community activity; and their business and real estate accomplishments.”
The first award was presented, as it is every year, to a non-Realtor. First Hawaiian Bank Loan Officer Rick Smith was named 2011 “Affiliate of the Year.”
Next, Alan Muniz of Pali Kai Inc. Realtors, Kihei, was recognized as the 2011 “Realtor Salesperson of the Year.”
Finally, the “big award” – 2011 “Realtor Broker of the Year” – was presented to West Maui real estate professional Colin Dunlop of Dunlop Realty LLC, Lahaina.
Dunlop has been in the real estate business in Maui for nearly 30 years. He raised two now-grown youngsters as a single parent and was consistently involved with their schools, serving for several years on the boards of directors and as vice president and president of the PTSAs.
He also has nearly a decade of service as a volunteer mediator with Mediation Services of Maui and serves on the board of the West Maui Taxpayers Association.
Dunlop was introduced by 2010 “Realtor Broker of the Year” Debra Merle of Island Sotheby’s International Realty, who said that if anyone asks him to help with anything, “he never says no.”
The Installation Luncheon with its silent and live auctions and direct donations in the table centerpieces raised $13,500 for the RAM Presidential Scholarship Fund.
