Wine dinner fundraiser to help Olivia Bianco

By Staff | Sep 15, 2011

The Nov. 19 event will help Olivia Bianco and her family pay for medical and living expenses

OLOWALU — Please join us as we help out the family of Olivia Bianco with a fun evening to raise funds for medical expenses on Nov. 19, 2011.

Olivia is a six-year-old girl from Kahana recently diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

After four months of treatment in Santa Clara, California, Olivia returned home for home hospice care. We are raising funds to assist her family with medical and living expenses.

The family was recently chosen to participate in a clinical trial in Houston, Texas, and have just started her treatment.

The West Side community is putting together a wonderful evening on Saturday, Nov. 19, to be held near the ocean’s edge at the Olowalu Plantation House.

Chef Luis Fuentes from Island Catering is pairing up with Dean and Carol Frampton from Sandwich Isle Cellars to create an elegant, six-course Pacific Rim cuisine dinner paired with wines specially chosen for your enjoyment.

The courses will run from Dungeness Crab Cakes to a Lavender and Honey Marinated Duck Breast, Seared Ahi Sashimi, Seared Beef Tenderloin and Rack of Lamb, along with dessert.

Appetizers start at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. While you are enjoying your wine and noshes, you can get into the fun of bidding at the silent auction. We will have many auction items, ranging from restaurant gift certificates to zipline tours, kayaking tours, hotel stays, snorkel tours, a Kapalua Spa gift certificate and so much more. Bring your checkbooks and have some fun.

Donations to the wine dinner event are $150 per person. That includes one ticket to a mahalo drawing, appetizers, dinner, dessert and a great evening.

To buy tickets, donate something for the auction or get more information, call Kay Ryan 665-0981 or Debbie Arakaki at 283-7214. Thank you for your support!
