This wonderful event helps hundreds of children that are in our West Side community. The tutor project is completely run by 130 volunteers, but there are still costs involved.
The program, which is led by founders Pat and Richard Endsley, provides a snack each day, books and all the supplies that the students and tutors need. Since 2002, this program has lent a hand to the kids in our community to help them with reading, writing, math, social studies and creative arts by providing them the little extra help they may need to push ahead.
Barbara Potts of Aloha Realty Group and Cheryl Henderson are the ‘Aina Nalu owners that have been the force behind this event. Barbara has set a goal of raising $10,000 or more for the tutoring program to help defray the costs. On the wish list for the program is a new Swun Math System program, “Beyond the Basics” teaching system.
