Cheryl Pokipala noted, “These students made an impact in our Home Build program by assisting with our home under renovation, ReStore and warehouse also under renovation.

LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School National Honor Society with Advisor Steven Cornell returned to volunteer part of their Furlough Friday on April 23 with Habitat for Humanity Maui.

The 24 students were divided up to make the best impact for their available four hours.

Students made a frame for a window and installed it for the future offices at the Habitat for Humanity Maui warehouse; assembled metal shelving at the warehouse; cleared away items to make room for more framed walls at the warehouse; helped pick up a donation and unloaded it at the ReStore; filled water jugs with ice for the volunteers; and cleaned the delivery truck.

Habitat for Humanity Maui Community Relations Director Cheryl Pokipala wrote, “Habitat for Humanity Maui asks for your support to eliminate poverty and homelessness by joining us to build a home for a family in need.”
