COMMUNITY NEWS for January 16 issue

By Staff | Jan 16, 2014

Each year, Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club members pick plumeria, sell lei, then deliver the profits to the Lahainaluna High School Health and Medical Services Pathway, so that students don’t have to pay for their clinical scrubs. This year, seniors from Kaunoa Senior Center volunteered their time to sew scrubs, saving money on manufacturing costs. Funds from the lei sales also go toward scholarships for students who remain in the program for three years and are deserving of the financial reward.
