LAHAINA – Duke’s Beach House recently recognized Tye Burgess and Graham Seiki of Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School as “Staff Members of the Month” for August and September, respectively.

Burgess and Seiki were selected by their peers based on their exceptional work and commitment to the school and its students.

Burgess, a fourth grade teacher, is described as a kind, friendly and positive individual and a dedicated team player. He is credited with working extra hours to set up classroom iPads and their applications and for helping to start a student government.

Technology Coordinator Seiki was named September “Educator of the Month” for his great work in upgrading the entire school’s computer and Internet systems. He was also praised for his diligent work in fixing all of the school’s computer issues and working respectfully with the staff.

“I am so proud to represent Duke’s in recognizing the excellent work these faculty members are doing,” said Lauren Kiek, sportswear manager of Duke’s Beach House.

“It is such a privilege to be a part of Duke’s involvement in our community. We recently had a tremendous response from schools throughout Maui to our Keiki T-Shirt Design Contest, which provided us an opportunity to give back to local schools along with our ongoing recognition of outstanding educators like Tye Burgess and Graham Seiki.”

Burgess and Seiki were each presented with an engraved koa box and a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House.
