Maui Ukulele Festival set for Sunday
KAHULUI – The Maui Ukulele Festival will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Pavilion/Amphitheater.
Enjoy a free afternoon of island music with highly acclaimed musicians celebrating Hawaii’s beloved instrument. Renowned ukulele advocate and teacher Roy Sakuma will serve as emcee.
Popular ukulele musicians scheduled to perform this year include Ohta-san with Nando Suan, Kamakakehau Fernandez, The Hula Honeys, Aidan James, J Town Hui, Honey Bun & The Coconuts, Daniel and Nelly Toyama Baduria, the Seabury Hall Hawaiian Ensemble and Kalama Intermediate School Ukulele Band.
Island food and crafts will be available for purchase.
Sakuma will also lead a free ukulele workshop on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater.
