LAHAINA - LahainaTown Action Committee is ready to kickoff its new Music Series in the Park, with live music on the stage at Campbell Park next to the Baldwin Home on Front Street.
Each month on Lahaina's Second Friday event, LahainaTown Action Committee will host for the community a free "Concert in the Park." All are welcome.
For March, LAC will feature three musicians: Wilmont Kahaialii and Al Nip of West Maui, and Eddie Tanaka of Molokai.
Wilmont Kahaialii will play at 5 p.m., followed by Nip at 6 p.m. and Tanaka from 7 to 8 p.m.
With a crooning voice and a guitar under his arm, local musician Tanaka has become an island crowd favorite. Whether you've heard him at Hotel Molokai accompanied by local musicians or playing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center before hundreds, Tanaka's songs of Molokai's cowboys, the island's splendor and laid-back lifestyle resonate with listeners.
LahainaTown Action Committee also supports local Lahaina nonprofit organizations with their fundraising efforts with food and product booth sales.
When local nonprofit organizations partner with Lahaina restaurants to raise funds, it's a "win-win" for both the organization and the restaurant, LAC noted.
Nonprofit groups that will be in the park on Second Friday in March include Waiola Church, Girl Scouts of Lahaina, Lahaina Canoe Club Keiki Program, West Maui Soroptimists and Boys & Girls Club of Lahaina.
