Find out what happened during the 2022 Hawaii legislative session
Other than debate about the minimum wage hike, the 2022 Hawaii legislative session has been pretty low-key.
Should Maui residents be happy or upset — or both — regarding how legislators voted during the session?
As the Hawaii legislative session concludes, find out what it means for Hawaii residents by attending an in-person event featuring experts from the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii.
The Maui forum is set for Tuesday, May 17, at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului starting at 11:30 a.m.
Institute staffers Malia Hill, policy director; Ted Kefalas, director of strategic campaigns; and Joe Kent, executive vice president and former King Kamehameha III Elementary School teacher, will cover which bills passed, which ones failed and which ones are likely to be revived in 2023.
According to Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, bills of special interest concern taxes, housing, cryptocurrency, government transparency, healthcare, the state budget and the governor’s emergency powers.
There also will be a Q&A session with the audience.
