Community loses Loreta Romo
With her unique and energetic personality as the front desk manager for many years, Loreta Romo made your visits to the Maui Medical Group Lahaina Clinic as much of a comfortable experience as could be with a doctor’s appointment.
Aunty Loreta passed peacefully on to the Good Lord’s Kingdom on Feb. 19 at Hale Makua in Kahului. She was 79 years old, but her memory of care and comfort for those around her will live on.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Remehio; her children, Raynette Marquez, (Nelson), Royale, Russell (Shelly) and Randal; grandchildren Remy Romo Vadez, Alexander Romo and Erika Hirouji (Darren); great grandchildren Liam Hirouji, Zayden Hirouji, Honor Hirouji and Teyan Hirouji; siblings Demetrio Tabac (Simpliciano), Cayetana Paet (Zacarias), Stanley Torricer (Helen), Eugene Marquez, Lawrence Miguel, Benjamin Marquez, Betty Rodrigues and Elsie Miguel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Loreta Romo was predeceased by her parents, Maxima and Sabas Torricer; siblings Guillermo (George) Torricer, Marcelino (Moso) Torricer, Rudolpho (Rudy) Miguel, Violet Miguel, Alex Miguel, Bill Hamora and Uncle Tuti.
Services were held on March 15 at Norman’s Mortuary.
The family would like thank the staff and doctors of Hale Makua Kahului; Ilima and Gardenia Neighborhoods; the staff at Bayada Home Healthcare; the staff, doctors and ER team at Maui Memorial Medical Center; and the staff and volunteers at Hale Mahaolu (Meals on Wheels).
