This holiday season, help provide meals to Maui families who are food insecure through the Maui Food Bank.

A donation of just $20 can provide a holiday meal for a family of four.

“The holidays are just around the corner. At a time of year when many of us gather at tables filled with delicious holiday favorites, some of our neighbors will be worrying if they have enough food to feed their families,” Maui Food Bank explained on its website.

“The economic challenges have continued in our community, and thousands of our neighbors — many of them children — are still struggling with food insecurity.

“That’s why your support is urgently needed during this time of historic challenges and demand. You can help feed these families in crisis with your gift to the Maui Food Bank today.”

Other easy ways to contribute include Safeway’s Nourishing Neighbors Campaign through Dec. 25 (donate $10 using the slips available at checkout), Check-Out Hunger through Jan. 17, 2022, at Times Supermarket or Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors (add a small donation to your grocery bill), or support the Maui Food Bank through Maui Ku’ia Estate’s Chocolate Laulima program. Forty percent of all sales from the Maui Food Bank chocolate collection will be donated to this vital organization.
